on the subject of sweet old ladies i gave a quote to a sweet old lady today and in chatting to her she told me that her next door neighbour in the complex had just paid £200 for a small lounge and hallway to be cleaned, she was 85, i'm afraid there are some in this profession who should be ashamed of themselves

thats shocking. £200.00!!   I always knock money off for oaps. I had one old lady a couple of weeks ago she was a widow and italian..i was at her home for about 4 hours and during that time i had meatballs, bread and butter pudding and spongecake!! she even gave me an apple to take home!  Anyway she was telling me she employed a man to build a wall for her and he quoted 400 he was there for 3 days and she fed him all day everyday. when he had finished he said thats 400 + 1000 labour!! she gave him 700 and said she had to call her daughter to take her to the bank ..obviously her daughter told her not to pay and he threatened her with the small claims court!  how can these people sleep?

most of my custy are OAP's and believe me most of them are not skint
i only give discounts on special offers or volume
i wonder what discount our suppliers would give if we said that all this chemical would be used to clean OAP'S
or maybe the VAT and TAX MAN might give us a discount or maybe the local fuel station will give us a discount on diesel
this is a business and should be run like one
if i discounted to all OAP's then i would surley be out of business very soon
maybe then my local carpet cleaner could give me a discount for being unemployed?

Thats pretty much how I see it.

Prices in this area are held back by people discounting this and that and throwing in freebies, I give them a price and if they dont like it they can get someone else to do it, I'm not doing it for my health, why run round like a blue rs fly for nothing?

I recently went to look at some upholstery in a house that the owner had great satisfaction in telling me cost £1.75 million to build, gave him my price to clean and protect it all and he said that he had been quoted a 3rd of my price by someone over the phone, good luck then old mate, call them back, it will only cost you 4.2p on a standard BT tarriff.  ;D
