Title: Smoking Ban
Post by: Neil Grainger on June 11, 2007, 08:06:17 pm
Hi All

Anyone picking up work due to the upcoming smoking ban in July. I am finding the most resturants and pubs are replacing carpeting for new and not even considering cleaning.

Cheers

Neil

I sent a mailshot to 260 pubs and clubs, done one pub last week, leaving soon to do another tonight, waiting for the committee of a club to decide on the third quote I did.

I suspect many are waiting, worried about turnover drop after July 1st.

They have good reason to be concerned and no point spending money, when they may be gone, in six months time !

we've already got the smoking ban here in wales and one thing that I've noticed since the smoking ban is the pubs and clubs stink, I'm sure the smoke used to mask the smells especially the busy city centre pubs and clubs!there's nothing better on a night out than the fresh smell of vomit and urine! ??? and stock up on your gum remover as it's about to get a lot worse than it already is! ;D

                             all the best
                                              John

i hate smoking and the ban cant come quick enough for me.
im hoping that pubs will actually be busier due to being able to go out at night without choking on someones second hand smoke and stinking of cigars and the like
i agree with others, most pubs will wait before the ban before they freshen everywhere up, so there maybe some good work coming our way.
but its only a couple of weeks now

I've seen an upsurge in pub business, sadly not cleaning their carpets  :'( but in my Hypnotherapy practice.

Did a mailshot for staff and custies to become non smokers before July 1st, not one for CC though.

The landlords are probably fed up with all the letters they receive from carpet cleaners.
