i know odd question lol, my wifes just got a new job, and has been trainig solid everyday for 3 weeks! which you can imagine letting me get behind. so was thinking about working a sunday
i was going to yesterday, but opted out as i thought it was cheecky and might annoy people if say they had family round and im there disturbing them...
-
Did it once on a sunday afternoon many years ago and vowed I'd never do it again. It just felt so odd and I did feel exactly as you described, like I was intruding into my custies privacy. I suppose if I new a custy didn't mind and I was really strapped for cash I might consider it. But I've never needed to.
However I have no problems with working bank holidays if I need to. Even worked on new years day a couple of years back because bad weather coupled with the holiday period put me right behind. I was was supprised at the response I got. Thought there might be some funny comments, but no probs.
I did get put off one Good Friday a couple of years back as a custy had family visiting and they were devout Catholics. My custy was fine, it was the family that was offended. So she asked me to skip a month as I wasn't in the area the following day.

Once a month I work a Sunday, my sister lives in the middle of knowhere in a converted barn.
It has been converted into 4 houses, so I clean it once a month ( a freebee) and the other people who live there asked me to do theres . I told them as I only came to do my sisters I would do it on a Sunday or not at all . So I have ended up with the 4 in the barn , plus a farmhouse . All in all its worth me going now

i used to jet wash and window clean in Cardiff town centre once a month on a sunday, but i had to start abour 6am ..... not fun >:(
But the money made it woth while ;D
-
I clean most Sundays. At the moment I am working full time, whilst trying to build a round up. I just explain my situation to the customers and they're fine with it. I have one that is religious, but under the cicumstances she would allow it if I needed to do hers on a Sunday, so far I haven't had to do hers on a Sunday.
The only request that I have had, is not to start too early. I just say ........... I never start before 8.00am on a Sunday................. you should see their faces. ;D ;D
Then I tell them that I am joing and that I won't start before 10.00am. :)

:o No way Dude!!!!... I go to church every sunday Religiously :o....There's a shock for you all, Me going to church ;D ;D.......well infact its called the Church Tavern ;D ;D

i hate working sundays to because i think the customers dont like it but i reckon thats what the problem is us thinking what the customers are thinking without asking their opinion, they probably dont mind.you get coments like "oh are you working on a sunday?"and we automatically assume that they dont like it.
-
I do it sometimes but if I do, I won't start till after 10 am and I will finish by 4. I do some commercial work at weekends too as they are non-residential anyway. Often, my commercial work is better done at the weekend because I don't have to work around loads of parked cars. I will take time out during the week sometimes too as I'm not really into working a 7 day week.
-
Got to this week ::).
Water pump went today, means i'm off the road to weds night.
I'm not that sad about it though as i wanted to get the timing belt done, so at least i have to now ;D.

customers dont seem to mind so neither do i :)

-
Always far too hungover to even think about working on a sunday.
-
A lot of houses are not accessable during the week because everyone is at work. So for me Saturday and Sunday morning are prime time. Good priced work, get round quick and finish. My youngest son "helps" in exchange for a bit of extra pocket money.
Not every week though. I prefer to go shooting
-
do commercial at weekends / evenings but would only do private on a sunday if asked or as vince said not possible to do in week as locked etc,
-
Ive found that your customers will just get used to whatever you decide to do. They get used to the damm blasting reach and smear machine because we tell them to so having their windows spotted on the sabbath should be no sweat!!
-
Work every Saturday all day, so like to have the Sunday off. But if it was worth it and the customer requested it id work! Its all about the money to me, just very greedy ha ha!!
-
work on a saturday or sunday :P noooooo wayyyyyy

beg your pardon!

Its no secret that you can talk your customers into keeping you on even if you use a system that they would rather you didnt! As window cleaners we have the rare position in business of having a personal relationship with our customers and that is why we retain them. The truth is they would rather not have their house soaked with water, their plants damaged by your hoses and their windows covered in tiny spots but they don't want to hurt your feelings!!!! So they hand over there cash and stay loyal and thats one of the many reasons ats such a unique business! What you reckon?
