Title: VARISTREAM PROBLEM
Post by: starion on June 07, 2007, 04:08:23 pm
My varistream won't shut off when I unplug hose, it just keeps cycling.

Only fitted it yesterday, will explain connection so you can tell me where i've gone wrong.

Battery(main battery on van) to switch inside drivers door(these were used to turn pumps on and off), wire to varistream then wires from varistream connected to wires coming from pump(the ones that controlled pressure switch).

Should I take the old pump switches out of the equation?

               Thanks in advance, Callum.

Sounds like you may have to adjust the little blue pot inside the varistream.

If your pump has a pressure switch and its still wired in, then remove the wires for it.

Your problem is on the pump side, not the wires from your switching to the battery

The wires that were connected to pressure switch have now been joined to wires coming from varistream therefore bypassing pressure switch.

Hose connected to di vessel actually popped off when pressure got too high.

When varistream has primed pump and you're ready to plug in pole, should there be any noise coming from pump/varistream? Mine has got a constant pulsing sound ???

Take the wires from the pressure switch out of the equation, Just 2 wires from the pump are needed, possitive & negative.

The constant pulsing you can hear is the varistream keeping the pressure up, do you have any leaks or air being sucked into the system?

Jeff, pressure switch is disconnected, the 2 wires from pump go to vari and the other 2 wires fom vari go 2 battery.

When pump is fully primed I get a slight leak from hose connectors on di, but this is only minimal.

So the vari should always make a slight noise even when you've reached pressure?

Also, when I plug pole in it is quite difficult due to pressure and pulling more hose from reel is more difficult since I started using varistream.

Ok Varistream wired correctly,

it still sounds to me that you will have to adjust the blue pot inside the varistream. turn the blue pot down.

When its adjusted correctly you may still hear the occational pulsing from the varistream and this is ok, its just keeping it pressurised.
