Anyone used one of these yet?
Seem cheap and light enough.
One site selling them says you can remove sections but Gardiners makes no mention of this.
Are they worth a shot?

I,ve not owned one but I had a go with one at the Fed Show.
Yes they are light and the clamps are great to use BUT.. boy are they whippy!!! Great for general domestic up to 1st floor only but NO WAY would I want to use one any longer than that. They are no where near as rigid as the old universal poles.
Now.. the Extel COMPOSITE which I do own.. fantastic pole. Light, short sections and really easy to extend and retract with the same great clamps. I have the 34 ft one and never use another pole now. Look at Jeff's thread about his good lady helping him out. Thats the composite pole he is using. His Boss as he calls her is very slightly built and has MS I think and even she uses it.

Hi John,
You cannot remove sections on the X-Tel range as they have fixed overlaps.
They are quite whippy but are also very light when compared with the old Universals. My Universals were given instant retirement. The knack to using them is not to fully extend them all of the time, leave the last 3-4 inches un-extended and they become much stiffer. You can then fully extend them on jobs that really need it.
The Hybrid composite versions are very good. We will also be stocking these in 24ft and 27ft, hopefully by next week.

Alex the 24ft is that the carbon glass mix,and what is the length of the sections.

The length of the section is about 5ft.

Never really got on too well with my 24ft GF. so now it's a toss up between the 24ft Facelift or the Hybrid X-tel.
How do these poles compare? I know price is the obvious difference.

For the 25ft - we are hoping to come in well under £300.

At 40 ft, a telescopic pole will always be at a severe weight disadvantage to a modular Super-Lite. We have yet to make the decision as to whether we want to take this concept above 35 ft, but who knows ................

Alex, I've ordered brodex poles, so please talk to me quick before they come, I need to know more about these poles. What will they cost with postage and vat? when can I buy one? will they last well? so many questions!! Luke

These are not telescopic fishing poles. They are unique for WFP window cleaning and are not adapted from anything else but designed from the ground up by one of the world's leading experts in composite technology exclusively for us.

The facelift is a good pole, you will not regret using it. The main difference is that our one will be a real 25ft from 5 shorter sections and the Facelift is just under 24ft from 4 slightly longer sections.

Alex, put my name down for one of the 24ft telescopic ones's, they sound brill. The moment you get them ready give me a ring. I phoned the office earlier, I was having trouble with your email! kevlar weave, sounds brill. Does it come with a goosneck?
