Title: conservatory roofs?
Post by: davetherave on June 05, 2007, 07:28:18 pm
does anybody know much about cleaning conservatory roofs? i was considering leaving trad window cleaning behind and going into driveway cleaning and i wanted to know if it is possible to do a good job on conservatory roofs with a pressure washer because if it is then this is another service i could offer my customers.

I realise using a wfp on a conservatory roof would probably be the better option but forking the cash out for a wfp and pressure cleaner would probably break my bank account.

Any advice would be helpful

My neighbour does his with a pressure washer and it seems to come up ok. I tried it once, but I thought it was a lot of effort for the result. I do mine with a pole and squeegee now.

;D - I meant that it didn't seem any cleaner than mine for the time it took. What sleeve did you use? I am going to try a porcupine or even a brush next time - it did seem like I had a hard time with the algae that had formed using a standard sleeve.

Just be careful using a pressure washer on the con roof.
You'll find leaks appearing if your not careful

check your insurance co you might not be covered to use a pressure washer
i personally find that its a lot of mess especially if its windy and some nieghbours
get ped off with all the spray especially if they`ve just paid to have windows cleaned
or washed the car

And also it can cause leaks that were not there before so be carefull cause we now

My mate installs conservatorys and he reckons pressure washing is a no no. This would probably invalidate any guarantee as pressure washing damages the seals.
