Title: Here is some Encouragement for us all
Post by: jeff1 on June 04, 2007, 08:54:22 pm
Some days I come home and I feel shattered, some days I don't.
I take the occasional day off, Some days I don't,

I was stood there today on occasions unemployed because my Boss (wife) decided she wanted to do some work, nothing unusual it that you might think?
My Boss works full time at Tescos and has sunday and monday off, but every monday she comes out with me to work for the day, so 6 days a week she want's to work, more than some of us on here I bet? Nothing unusual about that I hear some of you say, and how right you are.

But because I was stood there on occasions today, I stood and watched her work, get another pole I hear some say, well I have 4 poles so I don't need anymore.
I stood there and watched her because I know she can't do to much, and if I don't stop her she would just carry on and on.

She is 5'1'' tall and she is smaller than the pole she was useing once the crank and brush were added.

But to top it all she is registered disabled and suffering from multiple sclerosis, so for those guy's who employ staff and they phone and give you a feeble excuse why they can't make it to work, point them in the direction of this topic.

If you look at the first picture is me, but if you look in the background you can see a large pub and a bay type window, now there are 6 of them plus other types of windows, now my Boss cleaned all of the inside (trad) while I was out side with wfp, the rest are of the boss at work.
So the meaning of this post is?? On the occasional day you feel down, just stop and think, there is always some one out there who is worse than you. ;)

There is always another facet to you Jeff, you have depth.

Now on a more selfish and superficial note, on the other thread about light poles I have been rambling on and you usually have it sorted, so is that pole your wife is using is that your new the composite one. It must be light for your wife to use it. Just please recap about it.

The pole you see is the new composite one and I have just asked her and her reply was, ''Its easy to handle, lighter than my cheaper pole (fiberglass one) and required no pressure on her behalf, to do a good Job''

Good pics jeff,

How on earth do you get to do the lodges/inns?

I would imagine that doing that jobs would be a stroll in the park as most of them are only 2 storey's tall. I was always under the impression that it was a national firm that got the contracts?

There are loads near me. Well I say loads but in actual fact there's only 4.

Well done to the boss. She could always come and give me a hand.  ;)

Hi Dude  ;)
The pub takes just over an hour in & out with 2 of us, the lodge takes 20 minutes and yes its a stroll in the park for the money, I even suggested to them they have all the signs done and they jumped at it.

I think There are 2 types?  I think one is the travel inn and the other is the travel lodge, but don't quote me on it though. :-X

1. I believe you have to invoce them and I think you have trouble getting your money, I know Alex Gardiner was/is owed a lot of money by them, the other is the one I do and that is the travel inn.

I do the pub you see in the background that is owned by them and I do the Travel inn, when the Job is finished I go into the pub and get the lovely money in cash ;D

If you live near Travel inns just pop in and ask for the duty manager to find out who deals with the W/C,  I was lucky with mine as the youngerst daughter put my name forward, I went in and seen the assistant manager, who gave me the job for the pub and when the Travel inn was built, I automatically got it.

This is the one I had trouble getting the money from the welsh company, for the builders clean who subed it out to me, the money owed to me at the time was nothing to do with the Travel Inn. I did it today and was paid in full.

Message from the Boss?  ''What do you need a hand with'' ;D ;D

well I would just like to say thanks to jeff and his boss (sorry I don't know her name) for giving me a good kick up the glutimus maximus, its so easy sometimes to try and justify having a day off.  Not now.

One thing I will say is why is the boss using the big pole for the downstairs?  Surely a little 12ft extender would be much lighter?  In fact why not just use a 12ft for the whole lot, it would reach no probs.

Hi John
The pole is 5' when lowered and not the heavy, in fact at 34' extended, it is almost half the weight of my 24' pole.
I do have a smaller 12' pole but we have some velux windows to do and a 12' wont reach, so I just fire on through out the day with my xtel pole.
The Boss's name is Lynne
Jeff,

I bought it from pure freedom, but most of the suppliers sell them I think, its the 34' extel composite. cost £399
