Hi all
just changed a pump in my extracta spirit machine but seems to be a bad airlock as only a trickle is comming out. i've attached a hose without a tool but running a while now and no different.
any ideas???
thanks.

Attach a hose to the solution conector and blead off the pump and flow should return back to normal. Most machines come with a bit of solution hose to do this
-
put a pipe onto the connection and sook it through with your mouth...yuck!
-
to bleed the pump the hose needs an open connector fitted, and make sure you have connected the pump inlet & outlet the right way round.

Yes Mike i'm sure it's the right way. at first i had it on wrong and northing came out at all.
tried sucking it out but it's really not having it.
keep the advice comming it's most apreciated.

take off the oulet pipe thats fitted to your pump, cover it with a towel, then turn it on, see if any water shoots out.
you might not have an airlock, you might have a dicky pump.

Is the pump actually running ?
Is the pick up filter in the supply tank clean ?
Did you fit the diode ?
-
Hi Glynn
yes the pump is running fine.
the filter has been cleaned and, sorry for being stupid, what is the diode?
thanks, will try taking the outlet pipe off tomorrow, i've to go office now.
thanks.

Put the spare male connector from the top of your waste tank onto the outlet female on the machine. Run the pump for a few minutes to bleed through. Find with a hose connected it just doesn't clear.
Just seen its a spirit so plug the handtool direct into the outlet.

Phone the people at extracta they are very helpful - even if you didn't buy a brand new machine from them.

whenever ive had air block i turn on pump and stick me thumb over inlet in tank do this a few times and the presure seems to force airlock out

Attach a short solution hose with a conecter at one ned and a open(no conections) at the other end. turn on vacume on machine and insert the open end of hose into the suction end of machine, using your hands to form a relativly airtight seal, Switch pump on and the vacume shuold suck the airlock out for you. Works everytime for me
