how high to you want to go. its not a good idea to try and replace ladders. dont buy a cheap one from B&Q get a proper one from a proper window cleaning supplier.
i use unger i like them the blue water ones seem nice though. pole work takes a lot of pratise. use a ledger mate or simalar to reach over sills. take a look at vice versa's squeege/ aplicators

Just had a top class mail shot from Facelift. Hi gloss brochure very well presented.
Couldnt afford it and weights a bit heavy. ???

I have been using a B&Q pole for the last 2 weeks. 3 section 5 meter telescopic aluminium for under £15. [Harris extension pole].
For that kind of money, you can afford one just to hold an Unger scraper for the really stubborn bird muck.
I have been using mine for WFP domestics. Can't fault it. Dai
