Hi All,
One of those days today. Cleaning a newly decorated babys bedroom this afternoon, only cleaned a square metre after having pre sprayed whole carpet - suddenly burst solution line close to shut off valve. Water everywhere, up the walls door and out on the landing and up the landing mirror. big wet patch on bedroom carpet. Fortunatly client staying out of the way downstairs. Big wipe down with clean Terries, vac up excess from carpet - lift carpet and check underlay - wet, vac underlay, swop sol line and finish cleaning carpet, then leave blower blowing underneath the carpet while I do the stairs - dry underlay and carpet backing by the time I m packed away, then resecure carpet.
Took my solution line to fluid and hydraulic engineers place in Preston expecting them to be able to fix on a new end screwed piece, but they wouldnt do it as their insurance doesnt cover repairs in case it was to blow under the pressure. Looks like its a waste of an otherwise good solution line and Ill have to get a new one, unless anyone out there knows different?
Dave.

Funny that I had the same thing happen to me yesterday only difference was i was using a v2 steam mate at the time as luck would have it i had just put wand down to go turn machine off when it went
took hose to a local hydraulics company where they presure tested hose and crimped me the old end back on it cost a grand total of 5 pounds (made me a bit wary about using the steam mate on full now though as hose popped where the wand would have been near my thigh ouch!! :o

Dave,
A company called Pirtek Hose & Assemblies.
There is one in Preston, tel: no. is 01772 620111.
They can crimp new ends or replace solution hose and quick connectors.
If anyone wants their nearest branch just phone 0800 382438 this will put you directly to the branch nearest to you.
Web site is www.pirtek.co.uk
Had 5 new ends crimped last week at the Luton branch, cost just £30.00

I remember the first time this happened to me. Only in the business a few months and so I flapped big time and without thinking ran down the stairs to turn off the machine instead of putting the solution line into the vac hose!!!
Water everywhere and the customer was standing talking to me at the time.
Put it down to experience.

Hi Guys,
I've had this so many times in past 2 years (twice today) but as I'm only working at 100psi its not generally too catastropic.
Cheers,
Doug
