Post by: oasisdweeb on May 25, 2007, 11:00:03 am
hi i have been asked for a quote for the windows of a commercial secondary school for about 4/5 times a year.
does anyone have any dvice on how to quote please as i have never quoted commercial before and i don't want to go in with a too high/too low price.

remember the insides of the windows will have things stuck on them, so this will take longer to take down and clean

We do a school ,  if you do get it try to clean them when the kids are on holliday . They tend to get in the way otherwise

we do a few schools and we have just picked up another one recently and another in the pipeline that we hope we will get, they can be good earners, all of the ones we do a great and we love em, i am a bit surprised that they want them cleaned that often, the ones we do are done 3 times per year max.
it can be quite tricky to get the price exactly right all you can do is a guestimate (on the high side tho....but not too high) we try to work out what one section will take timewise to clean then walk round using tht section as a guide and multiply the number of sections then we times the total by the hourly rate we want and see what we think of the figure that comes out. i know all that i have just said seems obvious but it is just a way of getting started once you have done one you will know if your calculations need tweaking up or down.
we have even approached a school and given them a price for a clean, but explained that if it takes a lot longer than our estimate the price will have to increase.
we have never had to increase although we dont get all the schools that we quote for
hope this helps a little
regards
Bill
