Cleaned empty house for LA 3 days ago agent goes in today with tenants place stinking. He opens all windows i drive out no smell. Its like it gives of a gas of some sort and builds up when enclosed.Carpet did not smell no cats carpet was dry before i left where dose the smell come from????I get the same thing at a big hotel i do stain resistant nylon every where but the smell goes because of bigger areas. Any ideas????. M Power used with LM clean on this one but other chems used before but always get a smell.

I don't have the answer to this but would also be interested if someone does.
Did one some months ago similar, someone just moving in and wanted carpets clean before doing so.
Came up well and were pretty much dry before leaving so I shut up the house and posted the key through the door as per customers request, next day customer rang to say their was a smell like cat urine.
Upon re-visiting a day or two later it was instantly noticeable as she open the front door. We came to the conclusion that the previous owners had cats that had wee'd on the carpet and my cleaning it had disturbed some that may have soaked through to the backing or underlay seeing as it seemed to be mainly in the lounge area. I agreed to clean again and applied urine neutraliser & plenty of deodoriser and asked her to keep well ventilated, said if the smell return it would probably mean ripping up the carpet to try and sort out.
Didn't hear from her again so not sure if it was sorted so left sleeping dogs lie. (or cats as the case may be)  ;D
