Just started window cleaning and bought some ramsay ladders.
Will they go rusty if kept outside? , should you keep them dry or does it not matter.
-
You should be able to leave them outside.
-
Matt,
get some ladder clamps and a padlock and just leave them on your vehicle roofrack; padlocked; Monday to Friday.
They'll be fine.
Aluminium won't rust.
-
okey dokey
..... you sure? ???
-
yeah on the van Mon-Fri then garage Weekends
-
Matt, tins of drink are made from aluminium!! I leave my ladders on the van roof 24/7 365 days of the year, they will be fine!
-

ok then, if it makes you happy....
...get a WFP.
Your ladders will be aluminium, and as stated will not rust.
your main concern is theft, so get some locking ladder clamps and your sorted.

when i was using ladders i always left them on my car, i used to live in a dodgy area sort of, and left them on with bungies...still got em ;)

I cant ever see a time where i will prefer wfp ... too much hassle..... need a van , a reservoir of water etc ..... anyway i earned #200 yesterday on trad ... why would i need a wfp?

My experience of locking my ladders on my car is a funny one, though I didn't think so at the time.
For twenty years I never locked my ladders on my car. All my mates would say 'If you don't lock em you'll lose em.'
Even when one or two of them lost their's when they were locked, I still didn't lock mine. I didn't think the area I lived in warranted it.
Then one day, when another one of my mates had his bucket and tools pinched off the top his car/ladders when he popped into town for something, I thought perhaps I should start locking mine up. So I buys a D Bolt style lock and start locking them to my roof bars. Guess what.
Within a couple of weeks I came out one morning to find not only my equipment gone but my Car as well.
So much for locking my ladders up, I thought!!!

I leave my ladders on my van all the time never take them off.
I of my ladders has not been taken off for nearly a year now just hope the padlock will undo when i need them
