Title: Waste Water
Post by: Sarah Sarill on May 22, 2007, 06:07:28 pm
Last summer there was a thread on ideas for using waste RO water but I cant find it  :P

Someone suggested extending your waste pipe to drip feed your hanging baskets with the waste but I think I remember someone else giving a reason why the waste water could harm the plants.  :-\

Does anyone remember what reason this was ?

I am keen to get this done if at all possible cos I hate watering every night  ;D

Hi Sarah

I have been running a waste hose around the garden for 4 months now with no problems, and the flowers look good (which keeps her indoors happy)

I just put small holes in the hose pipe at set points and put the hose about a foot deep

Hope this helps

I'm not that clued up but i cant see a problem myself, only the tds higher meaning the water is harder.

i mentioned it last year

i run a load of micro irrigation pipe and fittings around my garden from my RO waste, its onl a few hours a day the rest of the time it goes into a rain water butt and that does the lawn :)

works well for me, the toms and chillies loved it last year
