I don't like to be blunt but why haven't you got enough window cleaning business?
It's out there if you go looking for it. Don't get sidelined and concentrate your time on drumming up new WC customers. Instead of gardening spend your time door knocking.

Theres more money to be earnt cleaning window`s,try and get some more work if i were you.

When I first started window cleaning I also done gardening . Actually picked up some customers windows after cutting their hedges so go for it. After 6 months I gave up all my gardening as I had enough windows.

sidelines! dont have time for that personally
but works works mate ;) just dont mug yourself. windows are the best way to make money, i did gardenign before, cutting grass n that, dear me...cant be bothered with that now!
as said go out and get more windows

7 and half years ago when i first started window cleaning i was a post man in the mornings then went window cleaning in the afternoon

Hi,
I do a bit of grass and hedge cutting, its only about 15% of what I do.
Although it pays aswell as windows its a lot harder work, plus its a pain in the butt getting rid of all the cuttings.
Iv'e been slowly getting rid of this work and concentrating more on windows especially since using the pole.
There is quite a bit of expense involved,if you don't have decent mower, stimmer, hedge cutter they won't last very long.So if I were you I'd go for more windows rather than garden work.

ive been asked 3 times in the last 2 weeks about offering a lawn service
ive spoken to a gardener and he does very well, his advice " give em stripes and they are happy "
-
I did some last year while I built up my window cleaning but haven't done it this year. I always charged £15-20 an hour for it.
-
the trouble with offering gardening is that at this time of year everybody wants their grass cut but in october it stops dead, i know window cleaning is seasonal to a degree but nothing like this.
-
to try and generate more work for the rainy days i personally put an advert on my tickets i post through the door when customers arent in saying gutter cleaning on request and i also put painting jobs also but you cant do that in the rain,i get work through this so its worth considering.

What PaulTh said re guttering and add conservatories/roofs too if you're looking for one off summer work.
-
I do not have a full round however I would consider it like shooting myself in the foot doing gardening...doorknocking (I do not do) and leafleting will bring in the pennies...
;D Dave.

thanks for the help guys.
I do conservatory cleaning, guttres, jet washing too, but i still dont have enough work.
I have recently got someone to work with me three days a week and it has eaten up all my work. he now wants to work full time, so i need more work asap.
I guess window cleaning is the best for money, maybe i should concentrate on a few more commercial contracts, that way i can still earn money in the rain

Hi Richy,
If you're that quite give me a ring I've got a big commercial job I could do with some extra bodies on over the next couple of weeks, if you're interested in subbing for a day or two here and there give me a ring 01446 700 620, the work is around the cardiff area working on builders cleans.
Cheers,
Huw.

Richy, get your guy to do some door knocking for you, tell him if he wants full time work then he must do the door knocking.
-
good idea jeff, but the guy i have with me is not really a sales person.
I have done a bit of door knocking myself lately, agaion, and i have some more work trickling in slowly.
Had a potential big job to price today, waited there for about 40mins and she was a no show! >:(

I also do lawn treatment about a day a week. There's definitely money in that but it's finding the customers that's the hard part. You also need a licence to use a knapsack sprayer which can be quite expensive to get.
