Hi guys,
Been asked to complete a builders clean on a refurb site, just had a phone call yesterday regarding the loading bays and car parks, been asked to quote for cleaning them.
Now for the problem, pricing!
Front car park
2000 sqm, block, quite bad moss etc, wants area cleaned and re-sanded. No seal specified.
Loading bay 1
1020 sqm, concrete, moss level medium, area cleaned and re-sanded. No seal specified.
Loading bay 2
750 sqm, concrete, moss level medium, area cleaned and re-sanded. No seal specified.
Only ever done, much smaller areas, however perfectly willing to give this a go, hope someone can help, many thanks, regards,
Rob

I price jobs at
Concrete £1.50 per mtr
Block £2.50 per mtr + £1 extra per mtr for sanding .

Thanks for the reply John, do you have any idea a rough timescale for this sort of area?
Once again thanks for the quick response, spending a sunday doing a quote is not my idea of fun lol.

I would have thought that you would have gone in cheaper than £3.50 clean and sand because they are large areas - you could go in at £2.35 and still have a good wage. You will need a boy to sweep the debris up

Many thanks, for your thoughts BDCS, looking at the price £7,000 for the car park, does seem a little steep, but then the client is used to paying top dosh for the job to be done on time and to a very high standard.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Hi
From a practical angle what machinery will you use, these are big areas & will take a long time if your equipment isn't up to the task.

As David has said it all depends on the machine that you have. Of course as its such a large area you could do it at a cheaper rate and still make good money. Dont be put of by your price its a large area

Thanks guys,
Pressure washer is 200 bar(2900ps1) diesil model, name escapes me, and a 24" flat surface cleaner.
Thinking of spraying weedkiller the week before, would this help?
Once again guys, thanks for the info, much appreciated, regards,

pricing by square metre on very large areas is a no no in my opinion. the price to most clients will seem outrageous notwithstanding it will take you forever with your setup to complete on your own and they will want it doing quickly i would imagine. i lost out big style by quoting per metre a few years ago when offered cleaning temporary road sections for national race meetings. if i were you i'd quote my day rate plus day rate for any help plus travel, hire and materials etc and get some more bodies involved if you know other guys in the pw business in your area. you will still get a good wage and be able to complete job promptly and keep your good reputation

Not really experienced in the Field, but am interested my self, is there somewhere that you can hire out a bigger machine maybe?
24' isn't big for a 2K Carpark
Also i guess they will pay diff prices for Duration of clean and how soon you can do it so it's either hire out a big machine or get a few labourers in and buy a couple more machines
