I got a phone call yesterday, which went.
" You cleaned my carpet yesterday and it's still soaking wet and very smelly, I'm not happy about this" the phone went down before I could comment.
The lady was obviously talking very loudly, as my wife and daughter heard her and went into hysterics asking what was that all about ?
On checking 1471, the caller was from around Manchester, so I called her back, to ask about her experience and try to help!!!!!!!!!!!
I said I was from Brighter Homes and she hesitated, then said the company who she'd used had a similar name, apparently, Brite Homes, so if anyone out there is Brite Homes or knows them, you have a very unhappy lady, who needs a visit.
Incidentally, we are about 250 miles north of Manchester.

and rectify the matter.

I really posted this as someone trading under a similar name to ours has left a client very unhappy, as the call came from an 0161 number, which is Manchester and I am in the Glasgow area.
Thought the person concerned, or someone who knew them might read this.

I've had 3 calls this week from people saying they have waited in all day for me to call and do work for them and nobodies turned up, a bit strange as I always go out and quote and everything's always written in my diary, still, managed to get 2 of them to have a survey done and they have both booked, funny old world......................................... ;D

Had a job to do last week that Fresher Homes twice didn't bother to turn up to do. Got to do the 10 x 10 carpet for £40 but didn't bother with the suite for £30.

Steven which Fresher homes is it? as I have just spoke to Chris who owns fresher homes in Queensferry and knows nothing about it.

I've heard the name mentioned by a customer, its Fresher Homes based somewhere in West Norfolk (Kings Lynn area) although I've never heard of them before or seen them advertising, Andy

i wouldnt let customers down anyway, but i wouldnt do a suite for £30,i would like to know which area it is.

The Fresher Homes i was referring to drops lots of half price leaflets in east anglia. They are not listed in the local phone books and i have never seen them about.

Found a Fresher Homes Leaflet in my house.
The only address is the printer
But they do half price cleaning. I think its a National firm that takes people on sells them equipment etc

This is an interesting thread and relates to an issue raised to me by Trading Standards through my membership with them.
This is a Scam.......That you may have been caught up in completely unawares, as splash & dash operators find out the names of local carpets cleaning business's and leaflet a given area in YOUR NAME using a mobile number as contact.
They then trash the carpets or furniture collect the money and are away, you get the fall out.
This cropped a few years ago when there was a spate of similar incidents, not just CC but other trades as well.
I would suggest that you contact your local TS office and find out if there has been any other irate customers contact them with similar issues.

hi guys im not a splash and dash i bought this business in december 2006 im very profesional and i do send leaflets out my self and they have my home no and an 0800 no aswell and im fresherhomes but very honest and also im in the flintshire area so please dont think im some sort of scam please
