Title: it felt so good!
Post by: LWC on May 18, 2007, 08:41:09 am
never done this before and it felt so good

im not starting a thing about wfp being better, but im saying since i have gone this way its given me a lot better work

i have a road that i do where there is about 40 houses, its where i started and the work is rubbish to be fair, been going like 4 years, and started trad there. all £6, pains to get round the back so on so forth.

the worst house you do the front and then have to trail the hose all the way round the back down a ally way through dog poo...for £6! it is a filthy scummy house, i asked if i could go through to make it a bit easier...no the dog...er ok

so im there getting the hose caught and generally geting pigged off. i dont take my time on this one cause i get so annoyed. anyway. i get to the back, dirty old man comes out, "that thing leaves marks"

"really?"
"yes all over the windows"
i wasnt in the mood
"right youll have to find someone else then"

got the money and walked off, GREAT  ;D

ive got that much not that anyone who doesnt like it...off my list you go. more filtering will be commencing!

It does feel good to get rid of troublesome customers.

I once had a customer who had an Alsatian. You can imagine the amount of poo that generated in a postage stamp garden especially as the guy never cleaned up after it. Due to the size of the garden there were washing lines all over and I couldn't keep my eyes on the ladder and the floor at the same time. Hence from time to time I trod in it, got it up the ladders and on my clothing. Smelled to high heaven. Got really fed up with this, so I goes in one time and and leaves the window above the lawn where all the filth was, knowing what would happen.
He calls me back from three house away.

"You've missed a window."
"I know."
"Why."
"Should've thought that was obvious."
"No."
"Look at the floor beneath the window."
"What?"
"Dog's muck?"
"So."
"Would you like to walk around smelling like dog's muck all day because someone doesn't clear up after his dog?"
"But you're a window cleaner."

I stare at him for a couple of seconds. "I can't be bothered with this." I said, and calmly closed his gate and walked off.

It felt great.

Not a dog poo one but I ditched a customer yesterday.

Customer - I need my windows doing every 6 weeks, - but my circuit is based on a 5 week clean mam not 6!

But I want them doing every 6 weeks.

Sorry but thats not possible I am afraid.

But you willl have to! -  OH OH !   .  .  .  Sorry but I cannot do that mam!

Well my last window cleaner did them every 6 weeks.

PUNCHLINE - ''well get your old window cleaner back then!''

Lovely!  Heaven in a couple of words!

I had a woman who was absoluely loaded, i used to do inside and out every 2 weeks but i used to go back all the time chasing her for my money, i was forever telling her to leave it with the cleaner but to no avail!

The final straw came when i go over to clean her guttering (not been done for a few years) i'm about half way through on the back and she comes out and starts pointing out the stains in the plastic , so i tell tell her the stains are in the pigment of the plastic!

This cow was having none of it so she proceeded to make me try every product she had under the kitchen sink.

Half hour later im thinking there is no way this horrible b***h is gonna pay me any extra, so with that i just loaded my van up told her everything i thought of her and drove off?

Happy days

I've had a ouple of custys lately cancel because they want their windows cleaned every 3 weeks, we come round on a 4 to 6 week schedule - if they want them done every 3 weeks we try to fit them in but to not even ask is just annoying.

the next one to cancel like this is getting an earfull.

why not advise customers that want specific frequency or day thats out with your usual that you will provide this at the usual charge of callout £25 plus clean as the price for normal clean is set because it fit into round and keeps the price at its current level

I just say, "Yes, I'll do it at that ridiculous time you have requested, only it will cost double"

Decided a while back that it was Monthly or not at all.

Had one lady who asked for a price. I said a £10 a month. "How much for 2 months?" She asks. I said "£20". She said, "that would cost the same as having it done monthly"
"Yes", I said, "that's why most people get them done monthly."

SHould've seen her face. I had to laugh! She didn't realise I was pulling her chain.

I would have done the same, "but you're a wc". I would of walked off smatish as i would have slapped him.
