Hi There
Can anyone tell me would I be better to ask the staff for their recent CRB checks or should I pay for them myself?
-
Hi
get them to do their own and if you employ them then they get the money back

Might want to think about deferring the repayment until AFTER they have successfully completed their probationary period .... 3 or 6 months
Its amazing how many people don't last this long. We had one girl who seemed ideal : referred by an existing employee, very keen at interview, lots of experience as hotel chamber maid etc.
Lasted 1 day! Sent a text "...sorry but the chemicals etc .." with gloves and everything provided. I wouldn't want to be paying for thatg CRB !!!

I can't understand the obsession with CRB checks.
I've been in the cleaning industry for years and unless I'm tendering for a school I've never been asked about them - and this includes domestic cleaning amongst all other types.
Why do you do it?

I have won a contract to clean for a private nursery they want all staff to be CRB before allocating

I have had two people ask me why I am not CRB checked, I said I was and they said why didn't you put it on your leaflet then. It seems the public are getting this CRB thing from somewhere.
The last one said she only employs CRB checked people, so I said, Even if they are CRB checked, it doesn't mean they are not dodgy, It just means they haven't been caught yet. ;D
