I have just had a coversation with a friend in Durham about our insurance cover public liability and all risks cover! he has just got cover with the National farmers Union Premium was only £250 for 5,000000 and his exess was only £100 bet nobody can beat that one it also covers tools for about £1000

Tool cover looks to small for most operators, £1000 just get you a basic machine if your should be stolen, not including vat or hand tools stock ect, HSBC did a bucket shop price around sept last year of around the £200 mark and when you read the policy wording it certainly was'nt tailored as well as some of the opther providors policys.
Personaly I am sticking to McGregor Llyod ( i do belive they are recomended by the NCCA also) They offered to matchthe HSBC quote last year, oddly enough using HSBC as the provider, but did make a point of telling me what was missing from their standard policy. Also find speaking to someone whoe knows what a truckmount is without explaning to them is most usefull.
Also check that "all risks" covers treatment risks or more importantly "artical being worked upon" as it is an exclusion on most tradesman policy so to definatly have it you neeed a postive endorsement to say so on your policy.
other than that it sounds very cheap and may be a good buy.

HSBC all the way, if I had just taken public& treatment was £112 and about £250 for van contents inclusive.
The main thing is I had a claim on a sofa and they coughed. Just wanted to know tests/procedure and pics and offered to deal direct with custy if need be.
Not looking forward to this years quote though. :'(

Sounds good let us know how it goes at renewal!

Just posted my cheque to HSBC to re-new pub liab.
£95 with a £250 excess.
Includes treatment risk, but not tools.
Van and truckmount insured with NFU, not many companies will cover a T/M.

I'm with HSBC for company insurance, my van is with CIS but not the TM, I got fed up trying to describe to the dolly on the phone what it was, rang HSBC back and not a problem with them. I noticed on the policy that breakages i.e. glass, pottery etc not covered.
Liability and TM £400.00.
