This is really mean of me!
But the picture below is just a small part of an invention I'm working on for backpacks, the part you see is one of the most important parts of it. so watch this space for the completed version of it. (within the next couple of weeks)

i know what it is, its a propeller
you have worked out how to turn a backpack into a "jet powered backpack " with a few easy to find around the home items :)
good work

That one's for Jouk45 or Trevor Bayliss to work on. I guess with a big enough spring that could work?
-
its a brick tie, he's bonding two backpacks together!!!

If it's a Shurflo backpack - as most of them are now. (Matabi. God rest your soul!)
Then I would hope that it is some kind of useful handle for it.
Of course it could be a brace that goes on your neck and shoulders to enable you to carry two backpacks :o
yes for a shurflo backpack,Not a handle, but I think we would kill the guy's if we tried to get them to carry 2 backpacks.

Don't insult me ;D I twisted that metal my self while sad east enders was on. there will also be a bit of welding to do, but not to the piece in the picture.

Glad someone latched to my drole sense of humour chris!
:)
-
Part of small wheel axle that would enable a full backpack to be dragged by it's own handle. ie like a wheeled suitcase. That's what I'm thinking of anyway.
-
Good game, part of a hose winder ?
-
A backpack with a wind turbine fitted ;D
-
Nah, it's for bashing smug van-mounted gits, on the head, with shiny new vans; like Squeaks.

its a lever for switching it on/off/pump speed selector type thingy, to save you contorting your wrist while its on your back. I'd recognise one anywhere.
Dave
-
I think your right Dave. It will have a hole through the middle to make it like a seesaw. It will then be mounted on a small trolley so that it contacts the switch, another hole drilled through the end to attach a rod with a ring on the end.
The rod will then pass through a guide higher up the trolley. You can then turn it through it's speed range by just pushing down on the ring.
Saves all that bending over. what a brilliant idea, Dai

Not quite, I can't say to much at the moment. just sent of my £80 for its patent registration.
As a backpack user and with the help of Jouk45 (its his original idea that he passed onto me) a tweak here and there and it is now just in the stage of building the proto-type, just a week or two and I will let you all see it.
I just needed a little boost and a little feed back to make it worth my while ;D ;)

its a conversion to allow us to hand pump the water! PERFECT!
-
It's a metal bow tie that does not blow out of shape in the wind and rain, and when its got a coat of hammerite on it it will look super smooth. Ideal for those top class establishments, lovely.
