Title: how much resin ?
Post by: giftedk on May 14, 2007, 08:03:38 pm
im looking at one of those systems that relys on two di filters filled with resin, and powered by a 60 litre pressure tank. How much resin would it use if im working 5 days a week?

how much water would you use a week? I honestly could'nt tell you. However my tds is about 400 and I was strongly advised against it. I'd imagine you'd get through a lot of resin. Is there a reason why you could'nt invest in an ro?.

Going on another wc's experience who did a similar thing he was getting through 2 bags of resin a month. Our tds is 450.  You may be looking to get 3 or 4 bags a month.  In the first two months of use at that rate you could have brought a good ro system for the money you would have spent on resin.  You'll still need to buy some resin but only a bag or two a year.

If you tds is 560 you can complain and try to get a refund etc. The legal maximum the water companies can allow is 500.
