The link in the first post is just to show an alternative way of extending the pole if you have the room.  The second link is how it works in normal use.  It is a lot easier than a pole with clamps, to use in an enclosed space like a garden.

Reported time savings of at least 30%, fits in a small car or van.  Extends enough to clean conservatory roofs, and closes small enough to clean bottom windows, so no changing poles.

I could go on but I won't.

£159.50 including an Autobrush.

How heavy??

Matt, you can have it without the brush.

Niceandclean.  The pole on it's own is 1.5KG.  The length closed is 4 foot, and fully extended is 24 foot.

Thats good!
Silly question, how does it extend, but more importantly retract??

Thanks Ben.

Hopefully I will have them very soon, and yes I have plans for larger poles made of carbon.

Although the brush turns when putting it up that way, it sits on the glass fine when cleaning.

The new design will have the brush fixed along with some other features.

Yes seen the video, but how does it retract? Do you just point it up in the air and it retracts slowly?

The pole hose keeps it up, and the pole collapses when you release the hose.

Firstly well done to a new concept!

sorry Peter, but how can the hose make it extend and retract? Does it extend due to water pressure, if so what size pump and/or pressure do you use?

Any technical data please, i am looking at buying new poles asap! I was thinking carbon, but i like it!

Hi Riverside,

It is nothing so complicated.  At the trade show I was asked if it was some kind of cam that made it stay up, among other things.

All you are doing is pushing the pole up then gripping the hose and it stays there, then releasing the hose to let it down again.  Like most things the simpler you keep it the better it is, with less to go wrong.

Missed this.  It can have any brush on it but the lighter the brush the better.  Because the pole only weighs 1.5KG a heavy brush is more noticeable, and can cause the pole to droop a bit when horizontal.  When your using it with a heavier brush it is still very rigid.

I have a good Salmon brush that weighs around 300g, and is 11
inches wide, that is ideal for the pole.

If you hold the hose against the bottom of the pole the pole can't collapse because the hose has nowhere to go.  The hose is too rigid to fold up inside the pole.

What hose do you have through the pole then.

Sounds simple enough but in practise what is it like to use if you have to keep a grip on the hose?

Do you have to hold the hose it in your hand or is there some sort of clamp?

Its dead easy, you have to hold the pole while using it, you just hold the tube at the same time.

What hose do you have through the pole then.

I use a braided hose 10mm outside diameter, the same stuff I use as standard pole hose.

Hi Peter,
Probably won't remember me, I popped into your premises a few weeks ago at Broxburn looking for a fitting for outlet on DI vessel, For which you didn't even charge me for so thanks again for that.
I've been reading about your new pole over the past few days and i think i already have one its an 18ft fibreglass pole its only 5 months old, the top section has worn away the clamps have worn out and the only way to hold it up is by holding the hose at the bottom.Maybe this is where your inspiration came from, just winding you up mate.
On a more serious note judging by the videos you have posted i think you could be on to a winner, has anybody been using this pole for a couple of months and what sort of feedback have you had. What sizes are you looking to make.

Hi Matts,

A 24 foot for everyday use with some kind of extension to maybe 40 foot, and maybe a 60 foot pole.  I have to do some more tests thought to see what works best.

Did I show you the pole when you were in?  If not come along and I will give you a demo.

I don't know if anyone on here has one yet but there is some feedback on the window-tools forum.

Have another look, The frames are being cleaned.  And even if they weren't, the video clip is to show people how the pole works and not how to clean a window frame.

hi Peter, like the idea, may well be interested in one.
This is'nt a knock at you, but whenever I see vids or pics of wfp's in use its always on easy windows of semi's lol  ;)
The houses I cleaned today have georgian box bay windows, with shrubs in the garden so I'm not up close to them and have to angle the brush sideways from the pavement to get at them! how would your pole cope with work like that? would it suit that kind of work?
thanks
Simon

Hi Simon,,

It is probably because the highest percentage of windows are how you described.  If I have the time I will see if I can get some footage of some awkward stuff.

Now a more honest answer...
I think most people doing the video's myself included want to show the product in the easiest scenario possible, they don't want to show any sort of struggle like the struggle you may have had today.  Although you managed probably quite easily today, it would not look as good on a video had you been cleaning a simple semi.

People buying systems may ask if a particular pole is easy to use at a particular height, and I usually tell them it is but not as easy as it is at a lower height.

In answer to your other question I shouldn't think the windows you described that you done today should be a problem.

thanks for the reply Peter,
I understand what you mean about suppliers videos obviously, its just my round in brighton is anything but the normal 3 bed semis, I currently have a homemade 5 meter harrison pole and a 39 ft excel. Your 24 footer if versatile enough to manage the awkward windows of my round would be well worth my consideration, my concern was if using it at a 30 to 45 degree angle sideways on would it swivel and twist about? I'll watch this space and the window tools forum for feedback. Cheers and keep up the good work ;)
whats the pole made from anyhow?
Simon
Title: Re: peter fogwills new pole (Video)

Its made of glassfibre, a bit different from the glassfibre doing the rounds just now.

As long as the brush was kept against the glass then it should stay flat on the glass.
