Ask in writing.  An insurance salesman once changed his mind about what I was and wasn't covered for when I asked him specific questions by post.  It was vehicle insurance though.

I think the main point here is just because you have cover don`t think your completly covered especially where ladders are concerned,i know ladders are not totally banned but insurance companies have that attitude when claims start rolling in.These kind of claims there looking to have to pay out shed loads of money so there going to try and wiggle out if they can,i feel for that bloke and his family he`s not one of the lucky ones that might have had a near miss on a ladder and then said i`m going WFP from now on i`m not taking anymore chances, the next to worst possible thing has happend with him now being paralised,if you go the WFP route in a way your giving yourself and family the best possible insurance there is in our industry.Cheers.

You don't have to be an idiot to fall. Sometimes we are the victims of time and unforseen circumstances.

the solution is to have permanent health insurance not accident insurance permanent health covers a percentage of wage its not cheap but will pay you up to retirement age. mine is even index linked but it is not cheap

Most insurance policy only pay out if you are working to full Healt & Safety regulations.
How many w/c  if using a ladder secure it top & bottom, or have a lddertag on, or have a non domestic ladder, or wooden one with nothing on tha ladder.
