Hi guys,

Hope you are all ok! I've had a bit of a problem on one of my domestics and I'm hoping to fix it without too much expense.

I was deep cleaning a kitchen the other day and I was using Lift manufactured by Evans Vanodine.  It is an alkaline heavy duty surface cleaner which I use on all kitchens if greasy.

anyway,  I sprayed it on their farmhouse cooker range which I think is enamel coated and I left it for about 5 mins before rinsing.  When it dried it has left what looks to be water drip marks on the black matt enamel part, and the shiny red over doors.  I rinsed it loads and could not get them to disappear so i think it has stained it.  It has also faded the wooden worktop - although I haven't seen this yet.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get rid of these marks, short of buying a new oven for her.

The product itself doesn't say anything about avoiding wood or enamel surfaces on the container or the data sheet, and I have emailed the manufacturer with no response.

Please help!!

What I would do is the following

enamal covers-Try some "T" cut to remove the top surface and hopefully remove the staining. If not and the stain has gone too deep, use some very fine wet and dry rub the enamel down removing the top surface. Then "T" cut this to bring up the shine.

If this fails, get the doors ,etc resprayed with enamal. A motor paint shop should do it, or local furniture restorer. If this is a non starter, just get the damaged items replaced, via the spares dept of the range manufacturer.

With the wooden work tops,  a tin of wax and some fine wire wool should sort them out.

i would speak to a plastic surgeon first before doing anything.

a visit from them could save yoou a whle lot of time and money.
