Title: Business grants
Post by: calmore on May 11, 2007, 08:16:09 pm
After reading another thread ("Sex sells") I have been wondering..

Are there any grants easily available for small start-up businesses that maybe we should be applying for? Perhaps some sort of eco grant for using "green" products?

If you are young and starting out there could be,

If you been unemployed for a long time there could be depending on your age but you are probably broke by then  and have no money left for marketing etc

The princes trust is only available to younger people, up to 25 I think.

You can get grants/set up though shaw trust, if you have a handicap. I used to employ a guy with bad sight. The shaw trust paid for his training/spme of his wages.

Now for those ambitious types. You could try and get a grant from shaw trust, employ a disadvantage person, get shaw trust to supply a computer and pay the person wages, and get that person to do you marketing, ring around for work etc, or even possible leaflet drop.

Who's going for it....

Unfortunately, I don't qualify for any of them.

I'd hoped that maybe, with all this "eco" stuff in the press there'd be grants available for businesses using eco products etc.
