Post by: jeff1 on May 09, 2007, 07:02:09 pm
Just ordered my self a  booster pump for my RO-System.

If anyone has bought a booster pump for there RO- System, was the increased production worth it?? and any idea of the extra %

YES my tap pressure was 40 to 48 psi and i run a merlin giving a tds of around 12 ,but it used to take me nearly 7 hours to fill 500 ltrs into static tank ..Fitted pump from wintecs last friday ,and pressure went to 65 psi tds went straight down to 6,7 .and it took bearly 3 hours to fill 600 ltrs tank .So im well pleased.

booster pumps do significantly up the output if your pressure is low

if you aren't running a merlin, perhaps consider an upgrade (100gpd) or whatever. i think paid £30-£40 for mine from ro-man

that and a booster pump meant i now have loads of pure water

I'm Running a 200gpd ro unit at the moment, so in the near future I may think about the upgrade, but I'm pleased to see the decent increase in production.
