just been asked to price up & clean windows on a carshowroom and wondered what the best way to clean them would be.

i would be cleaning the outside wfp , but was wondering about the insides .

problem you got is there a forecourt outside if so are there gonna want theres cars covered i looked a job a little while ago and the forecourt was full of cars the biulding was about 45/50 ft high but they wanted it done by hand and the only way was with a cherry picker when i priced it up with one they run a mile.

thanks for your reply,
it will be the first clean before they move in so there should be no cars there..

however , im struggling to work out how to do the inside windows correctly , obviously wfp cannot be used because of water all over the place.

Unless you're a dab hand with a squeegee on a pole, it's a ladder, portable scaffold or mini cherry picker. And big dust sheet for the drips.

Like P&R said, watch the punter's face drop if you mention an additional £150 minimum for scaffold or picker :(

Stop complicating things. ::)

Just stick your squeegee on a pole, even a broomhandle if you haven't got one.
Just make sure you keep an eye on the cars behind you.

Chris

For first clean to move in you need to get at the glass & frames.

You,ll either use ladders, scaffold tower or platform. Either way you require access to all areas you must make sure they know & are willing to assist in moving vehicles & equipment if required. Add 1/2 a day on to cover any delays.

The frames will require cleaning, so after the first clean you can use extending poles so easy.

To drive platform you need ipaf licence & insurance.

To put up tower you need 2 men, & practice at using them.

Good luck

Gary

At the moment you are allowed to use ladders for inside jobs according to HSE.  A set of pointers are perfect as you just put the point on the frame and climb you can get to almost anywhere.

I've said that twice, but no-one listens Lawrence.
They all want to do it all pointlessly high tec and expensive.

Obviously because this job's easy we need to make it harder.

Why use a squeegee on a pole when you could use cherry pickers and scaffolding? ::)

The result of this poll is that he'll choose a squeegee on a pole used by a Pole stood on scaffolding made of poles. That will put him in pole position to get this account!
