Title: t/m with m/s
Post by: Steve Chapman on May 04, 2007, 08:02:47 pm
Hi all,

started to use microsplitters again after a long break, and just wondering what those of you that use a t/m use as the metering solution of is it just nothing at all?

I normally use fibre & fabric rinse or extraction pro, but as obviously the m/s is used as a prespray then just fresh water would be ideal?

any thoughts?

cheers
steve

Hydra dri from Hydramaster.

I have used ms for about 7 yrs now, but usually with a detergent rinse ( depends on fibre type )

Steve

The microsplitters that I am familiar with are used as a pre-spray and are free rinsing, so just use tap water for the rinse. This has a BIG marketing advantage: "Well Madam, we use a food additive based cleaning solution which is very safe for me, you, children and pets. Then we rinse it all away with fresh tapwater, so there's nothing left that could promote  any resoiling problems or health issues"

Safe and happy cleaning :)

John,

depends how bad it is ?

MS - agitate - rinse with hydra dri ( very weak mix of hydra dri )

If heavily soiled I use a stronger mix of hydra dri.

The above method is at your own risk, experience teaches you what you can get away with.

Sometimes you have to go beyond what is considered " safe" to get a good result.

Ken,

Yeah i was kinda thinking just fresh water to rinse, just seems to make the solution container a bit redundant though? ::)

Steve MS have always been used with a fresh water rinse, infact ive heard sellers claim that a deturgent rinse could counteract the m/s and make it less effective, regardless of this ive recently tried Formula 90 (thanks to a few suggestions on another board), i run it through metered at 1000-1 to 2000-1 depending on soil in carpet (thanks shuan) and im must admit im very impressed.  I even tried just F90 on a carpet that had just been prevaceed and it came up failry well (not as good as those that had been prespryed and agitated), i found it hard to get my head round how a carpet could be just cleaned with Heat and Chemical leaving Agitation and Dwell time redundant (remember the CHAT pie).  Ive also heard loads of good things about Hydra Dri so ill be triing that next.

Hope this helps
