Title: Dry clean only wool rug

Had a call today. Gonna check them out on Friday. The customer said hes got 2 rugs both 4ft X 6ft, 100% wool and a label saying Dry Clean only. Thick pile, no fringe and cost about about £200 each. Maybe I've led a sheltered life but I've never come across a wool rug that must be dry cleaned. Any ideas out there?

they stick dry clean only labels on anything just so there's no liability from the manufacturer- I've seen these from M&S, just treat them as normal rugs.

Vac both sides, use a wool safe solution and clean as normal, obviously a colour test if required.If you really want to be the professional take them away to your inplant facility (your garage) and do them without prying eyes take back DRY.

Ive a couple at the minute which are 'dry clean only'.  They are shag pile rugs and can be wet cleaned but are impossible to get all the dry soil out from the bottom of the matted pile.  Also many coloured stains will be permanent.

Many of these new contempory rugs are designed to look good when new and thats it and at £200 its by no means a quality rug.
