Title: liability insurance

Can you guys give me some names and numbers for good liabilty insurers. Mines up fo renewal and i am looking for some comparisons. Fully water fed pole work, one part time employee, upto 1.000.000
cover.

You need public liability and employee's !!

People seem to forget (including me) that you need both PL & EL even if you work on your own and sub work out to somone who already has it you still need it.

I just done mine £1065, here is a quote from the T&C's

We would like to remind you that if there are any persons working under your supervision or control, Employers Liability Insurance is a legal requirement. This applies to both manual and non-manual persons, even if they are working for you on a temporary basis or even hold their own liability insurance policy. This would include for example, any person under a contract of service or apprenticeship with the Insured, any labour only sub-contractor or persons supplied by them, self employed persons, any person hired or borrowed by the Insured from another employer to be employed by the Insured, or any trainee undertaking study or work experience.

You need to be very careful, some people are so careless when it comes to these crucial points in business !! it only takes one person to call up a no win no fee in the event of an accident then your insurance company will drop you like a hot brick and your business is down the road and you be facing bankruptcy !!

I got my insurance through Mill Hall, I really didn't want to pay out the money but there just somethings you can't avoid.

Going to shop around tonight to see if I can get cheaper.
That,s not just for window cleaning though.

I got my 2m PL and 10m EL from Zurich for £1250 which is for traditional work and covers 5 employees/Sub-contractors.
