Title: Cheap Henry Hoovers
Post by: Timmy Boy on April 24, 2007, 05:50:58 pm
Evening all
I assume that 99% of you still use henry's as your preferred 'weapon' in the bid to rid offices of their dirt and grime, but I was wondering whether there are any alternatives out there that someone is favouring ie does anyone use Henrys younger brother (James) or do they not cut the mustard. I am finding that I can get about a year out of a henry before I retire it so if a James lasts about the same I will pocket the difference. Also is anyone getting any stirling deals on henrys at the mo, I can get a henry for about 69 + vat and a james for about 58 + vat.
Many thanks
Tim

Stick with the Henry, the cable wind is worth the extra coppers.

If your only getting a years use out of your henrys then i think you must be doing someting wrong.

I've used James in the past and I would definately not swap the Henry for this one, stick with the Henry, it's the cable wind and length of cable that is important.

What are you doing with them if they only last a year  :o  I have had some of mine for at least four and they are still going strong, just need new pipes now and again.

The problem is that the majority of our work is done in offices such as brick yards etc so the dust really does muller them.
It is mainly the motors that fail so I looked into replacing these and was quoted £55.00, so it does not really seem worth faffing with.

Hi

Numatics are V good as well and are rated the same as henry's 10 out of 10 for both.

Henrys have great build quality, a powerful 'suck' and the cable wind is great. However they are also heavy and have a tendency to get stuck around corners.

I've never understood those two big rear wheels. Vacs with four casters on the bottom tend to glide around following you a lot better than Henry does.

I still use them though!

Henry's are Numatics. Timmy, are you using them without bags, if so this is why they are clogging. Extra few quid on bags will drastically increase the life expectancy.
