I've made a good profit from con roofs i look at the roof decide how long its
going to take, 1hr at least, that would be £30 to start with. Good idea giftedk i've allways used just pure water to rinse off will try using there tap on the next one. ;D

I did a con last week roof inside and out (very hot day) Charged £50 took 2 1/2 hrs it did take longer than i priced for but hey £50 for 2 1/2 is not that bad i used to work all day for that welding >:(

Whats the best way to do them trad? I generally scrub them with my mop on a pole, and then rinse off with a garden hose. This works fine for the translucent roofs, but I did a roof the other day that was clear, and it obviously dried quite badly. I had warned the customer about this prior, but he was just happy he could see through it!

Was £40, took me 1 + 1/2 hours, but there was no way I could've squeegeed it 'cuz the panes were odd shapes.

Do you clean the frames as well as the roofs for those prices, or is it just for the roof?

TFR sprayed on, leave for 10mins (have a cuppa),then pressure wash them off with a very wide nozzle jet fitted from a distance. A lot quicker than using a WFP brush.

Conservatory roof work is the cream as i call it it ! we did 15 last week as well as 7 full fascia cleans, we charge a minimum £60,00 for a roof clean and we,re fully equiped and do every job off conservatory ladders and clean by hand and results are always excellent, the repeat work we get from this and reccomendations to others is untrue, with this type of work plus your regular windows you cannot fail to earn a decent living.

Oh yes!

We have a crew of two lads fully booked for the next three weeks. Ours is a professional valeting service and not just a clean of them.

Minimum charge is £150 but average is over £200 per clean. The lads do 2 a day so takings are around £400-£500 per day. We've just had to start doing weekend work which is brilliant as not only are we doing more conservatories but neighbours are more aware of the service provided.

This is off about a 4 mile radius of our office and we're about to develop another territory where there is a lot of potential business (area with money) with a second team.

The art is in the marketing of the service and selling it once in front of a customer. We do about 5 surveys a day and get about 4 out of the 5. Every day there are more and more calls from the advertising that we do and from recommendations.

We're working on a few finer points before expanding this service on a grander scale, considering whether to go down the employed worker route as is in place at the moment, or, more likely, launching this service as a low-cost national franchise.

No that £60 is just for the roof and outsides, but as i said this is our minimum charge and our average price is probably around the £100 to £120 mark, and when i say outsides that is all the down pipes frames sills and glass and guttering jetted out.

I priced this one at £185, because I didn't want the Job, just to waist a little time, I washed the windows as well took me 70 minutes in total and that was stopping for a cupa and a piece of chocky cake of the custy.

I ended up charging her £150 in the end as she has promised to have it done twice a year for £100 and she is one of my best custy's, so giving her a £35 discount she was over the moon.

with con roofs i like to earn money, so i price how i feel, take into account the customer where they live and  then think how long will it take me, 2hours? ill say 60-70, because the worst thing you can do it rush, get tangled in the hose, fall off the ladder, or worse through the glass, so if you take it easy and price to do so, you can go wrong, if they seem a bit weary, and then add, ill wipe all the gutters and clean them out, only takes 5mins and looks great,

bottom line is, i dont earn any less that 30p/h on con roofs,

i find the best way to clean them is with the hi-flow brush from unger, stick that on the end of your pole, get a pump action spray bottle, put it some mega powerful hard surface cleaner, the sort that staines the glass if you leave it on too long and scrub away, and rinse

John and Gary, many thanks for your interest but its a little early at the moment.

We probably will go down the franchise route but need to develop the local areas with employees first. We need to make sure that any mistakes (at least the major ones) are ironed out before launching the service across the UK.

The point of buying into a franchise is that the pilot(s) have been throughly tried and tested with lessons learnt to avoid potential franchisees getting their fingers burnt - or at least minimise the risk.

For example we are about to try a different form of advertising medium that we are very excited about - but it could fail miserably. We have invested large sums of money into various aspects of the service, marketing etc that have been a risk, but we have had to take them as any franchisee will need to benefit from our experience.

We need to ensure that not only are our customers delighted with our service, but also that our franchisees are too. We want them to earn a lot of money and enjoy what they do. Happiness is everything imo!

There are too many bad franchises in the cleaning industry where franchisees are pretty much conned out of their money; high up front costs and silly percentages of turnover to be paid as royalties.

I hope you appreciate what I'm saying and understand why I'm saying it.

Maybe in 9 months time we will have dotted the i's and crossed the t's. We need to get the consultants in next to establish how territories are to be worked out and the Terms and Conditions of course.

Thanks again for your interest.

Chris
