Heard a great story recently.
Cleaned a ladies carpets. When finished she said she called me not the other cc who advertises in the local rag, cos he went to her neighbour to clean pure silk rug. 2ft x 5ft approx, several hundered pounds worth.
He took it away, and brought it back with big holes in. Apparently thats what happens when you put silk rugs in a washing machine :o :o :o :o
Getting loads of work in that village at the moment - wonder why? ;D
-
Thats what i like about this forum. You can save yourself a lot of money learning from other peoples mistakes ;D
Glyn, hows our mate Peter getting on.

-
Hi Steven - The Greek is fine - how do you know him? I know he gets about a bit!
-
They may appear to be clowns, but if you read about, or watch articles on the most successfull people in the business world.............almost without exception.............they sarted their empire, by undercutting the existing service providers.
As the expanded and gained credibility, raising prices was never a problem.
It's all about getting the price RIGHT at the beginning, to allow for your projected growth. No use being double the price of the others.................if you are just offering the same
or you are no good at marketing
if you are earning much less than " them "
The guys with the newspaper ad's are probably doing around 20 jobs a week at an average of around £50 per job and are very happy with their £800 - £1000 per week.
I bet they don't see themselves as clowns and some of them will become successful in later life as a result of their experiences
-
It all depends on how you define 'success' ::)
-
I would regard success, to be improving your lifestyle and increasing earnings, as a result of good business practice.
Some achieve success by just woking hard and getting a higher reward as they gain experience / credibility.
Some, by widening their service options
Some by going for high volume and taking on employees
Difficult to really define success.
Some people will regard themselves as successfull by earning what they perceive to be a decent level of income that gives them all the holidays they want, have the house with which they're happy, bring up their family without worrying about their monthly outgoings.
Personally..........I've achieved much success, in several areas of life.............but the greatest success has been raising two, particularly nice girls and restoring peoples flexibility / posture, even after many years of suffering.
-
Your final paragraph was the answer I was hoping you would give... over the years I personally have found that many people search hard for something and really they have it all the time..they just don't appreciate it ;) and then they can easily lose it if they are not careful
Please excuse the ramblings of an old fogie I can get quite deep sometimes
-
I would like to second that, having got the T shirt.
If you have kids, you have to be extra careful and not take things for granted.
Anyway` here`s to happy days :D

Ahhhh, it's a wonderful life! ;)
