Hi all
I dont no whether its me but my water that is coming out of my jets is not under as much pressure as it should be, Gauge on Advantage is saying its where it should be but it just does'nt seem right.
Cheers

Hi neil,
If the guage is showing the right pressure, it's normally a sign that the system needs a good descale, esp if you are in a hard water area.
scale tends to build up and slow down the pressure, i've had mine almost grind to a halt, but running a strong descale through it should clear the problem, just make sure you rinse well before using again.

The wand should have a filter behind the jets.
These should be removed and cleaned out once a month or so.
Unscew the jets, the filters will pull out.

Check the flojet pump, it may deliver 100psi but the flow rate may have gone down.
How to check it? unscrew outlet from flowjet and switch pump on at the machine, put water from pump into a bucket, from start to stop time 1 minute and then measure the amount of water in the bucket in litres.
Call Woodbridge and ask them what it should be.

go to b&q and they sell it for other things or buy it from Hydramaster, empty your tank of water and then put neat descaler in, then put solution hose onto machine with upholstery tool attached. Put uph tool in clean tank with trigger wedged as to keep it spraying then switch pump on.
You are now recirculating the descaler through and through and through after 10 minutes stop and let it dwell while you have your dinner then pump out DONE. oh and then flush with water for your next job.

With the open end hose connected and pointing upwards, turn on the pump and measure the height of the water spout. A new pump will shoot the water upto about 18". A knackered pump will shoot it up to 6" but still show a pressure reading of over 100psi on the guage.

Could be a sign that the pump is about to fail.
I had a similiar problem cleaned jets thought that was answer and then

Mike Halliday had a great idea, he used to have a spare flojet set on a wood board with male and female connectors on it, when his pump went down he used to put this pump on the front of his extractor and use it externally obviously plugging it in to the customers electric, you could even do the same with a booster box when your vac motors go.

Thats a great idea. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Anymore get out of trouble ideas.

Took Noozles off last night and they were totaly bloocked with rubbish, amazing any water got through them.
Will descale tonight thougn and check to see if pump is alright.
Cheers and thanks

Agreed this is a great idea that I havn't seen commercially. You can boost temp and vac inline but a pressure booster/backup is not something I have come across.
Anyone know of one?

has anyone got diagrams of a diy pump setup or vac setup?
Is there any addition wiring to do or can you connect straight to the socket?

with a flojet pump thats in good nick and delivering 100psi you should get 3 and half litres per min

HI
Had to take machine back to alltec today as I had a total loss of power Yesterday afternoon.
Rang Chris and he said bring it tomorrow morning at 8.30am Fixed the power problem and also changed the thingy that moves the water in the pump.
What a difference, i have been obviously down on pressure for sometime.
Top service and Chris is a credit to Alltec.
Cheers

Hi Neil, how much did Alltec charge to repair it?, our Advantage has been showing under 60 psi with the 2 jet wand (it shows 120 with 1 jet hand tool), when we had the 6 jet Rotovac the pressure guage only showed 20 psi!.
I will check jets and de-scale over weekend but just wondered if power problem was the same as yours. How many hours do you have on your Advantage? we have nearly 400 but have not yet serviced and wondered if it would be better to replace motors instead?
Thanks Barbara

HI
Power problem was somrthing different, Chris told be I think that its was the impela blade in the pump that had worn out.
If pressure is down take it back or give Chris a ring.
The pressure when the wands are cleaning will be down, what pressure are they showing when they valves are not open on the wands and rotovac.
-
Hi Neil, the pressure shows about 125-130 when not using. Thanks
