I have had my 40x40 for 16months, In the last wek my tds has gone up from 6tds to 12. Does that mean its on its way out?

I have changed my prefilters but its not made any diffrence.

So will my tds just continue to climb untill I replace it?

I was hopeing it would last for 2years, but what will be will.

My tds from tap 72 is reduced to 12 after RO. Not great but better then DI only.

Four months ago I was getting 2 Tds after ro.

Any Thoughts?

Where are you in the country Nel?

The reason I ask is I have a theory that the more rainy the weather over a long period then the softer the water on our reservoirs and hence less purification needed to get it to the tap.

Only my post R/O pre resin is about 012 (after 3 weeks of no rain) when during the rainy winter it was about 006.

My RO Membrane only lasts 6 months :o :o

LIMESCALE >:( >:( >:(

Our water is full of it >:(  We nearly have to chew it ;D

So, for me, it's a new membrane every 6 months.  The alterative is a water softener at £500 - £600 and £4 -£5 per week to run it :o :o

A new membrane evry 6 months @ £40 is only a couple of quid a week :)

Matt, I live In the North west of England, Lancaster.

Its a soft water area. But you may have a point. ITS NOT RAINED FOR A FEW WEEKS.

I will monitor it closely and see if my tds drops.

Do you think my Tds will keep riseing if my RO membrane as gone?

Is the Tds going up because the membrane holes are getting clogged up with dirt?
