Title: Tank Set-Up
Post by: markybop on April 15, 2007, 06:53:38 pm
Rite guys, just fitted my 450L tank in my scudo, now wots the best set up?

Do i fill the tank with tap water first then pump it out through my DI filter ...........

Or do i fill the tank through the DI filter first so the tank contains the 'PURE' water?

Does it make a big difference?

Any advice wud be appreciated thanks...........

assuming your water is low TDS pump it through DI from your tank into your hose reel.

Yeah im soft water, only 35ppm at the tap
so you rekon i shud fill the tank wi tap water then pump then di filter then hose then steve?
That doesne put a strain on the pump or reduce the pressure.... ie pumpin water throught the di filter?????

Thats a Cleantech set up I presume, the problems you will have as I know others who have this set up. You may get caught on your tds reading as the tds may suddenly drop without you knowing. Also if you do not disconnect your di vessel at night you risk contaminating it as the water should be no more than 2 days old.

I fill mine from di to tank and then do tds reading so I know the water on the windows will be pure. There have been times not many when I have checked my tds after fill and it has shot up and i had to drain the tank. Doing it the other way I might not have caught it.

Just my opinion but each to their own as long as you always check your tds regular.
