What pump have you got as you need a decent pressure to get to the end of 100m without the pressure switch kicking in because of back pressure ?

If i run the pump as normal I have too high a flow, so I have a y connector and return some water back to the tank.
It means the pump dosn't shut off and you use more battery power, but, the pump pressure switch never gets burnt out.
You are able to easily turn up or down the flow as you like it.

Your money is well spent ;) I use 100 mtrs with a 100psi pump connected to a varistream.

But if you want to know what Sunshine is on about go to Matt's DIY site,  he has pictures and how to do it, on there.

That's one thing that concerns me.

I often feel I don't need such a fast flow (especially when I'm getting low on water!), but if I turn it down a bit the pump switches on and off every 2 seconds.

It feels like it's going to wear it out pretty quickly. :-\

rog, you need a By-pass setup then

get over to the DIY forum and see the post about " pump box"

It's really odd, both Roger and myself have the identical setup, yet I can turn back my flowrate to a trickle almost and my pump doesn't falter, I have never yet had the pressure switch cut in whilst working (only when I turn off the flow)
I don't need a variflo or a bypass, yet it appears that Roger may well need one ort the other...

I am at a total loss to explain it too ???

Brett

its because you didint e.mail me with your username for me to activate your account, we were having real problems with "auto spam bots" posting the same crap again and again, 30 links to porn sites etc etc, this is a measure we have brought in to stop this, its a shame i know

when you try to get on the site, you should see a link to this

http://d.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=505
