We visited the new AMU HQ last week in Cardiff and found the new premises a lot bigger than we anticipated, therefore we still have space for people to attend our FREE Leather Seminar next Friday. We have 2 sessions one in the morning 8.30am - 11.30am and the afternoon 1.30pm - 4.30pm.
Let me know if you would like to reserve a place.
People who have attended our previous sessions have found them very useful.

can you enlighten me on the content of the seminar?
please as we are already trained by ben .
would it be to our advantage to attend?
many thanks.
-
Hello Vanguard
The contents of the seminar include an overview of:
Leather identification - the 5 hands on methods using whole hides as leather samples
Products and the cleaning processes for the different finishes
Aniline restoration
Problems you may encounter during the cleaning process
The initial survey of the leather suite - now an important issue for cleaners
These are a couple of quotes from delegates at the other free seminars...
............ I learnt more in just over 3 hrs than i have done attending full courses with other companies.......... (DH)
.......Many thanks to Judy and Andy, an excellent morning course.........(GW)
There is so much to learn and it is an ongoing process so the time can never be wasted.

Judy, two questions....
1. It's very rare that something is completely free. What do you get out of the courses? Why are they free?
2. If you are planning any such events in the central Southern England area can you let me know?
-
This is completely FREE as anyone who has been can testify.
They are free because we want cleaners to have an understanding of leather (as there is so much out there) and to appreciate the correct ways of dealing with it including the problems.
Obviously we run more extensive courses and people who come who are serious about leather cleaning will come and do further training with us but there is no obligation.
We have already run courses in Essex and Surrey but will have more dates soon if there is an interest for them.

I would most certainly be interested in attending a session in the Southamton/Bournemouth/Portsmouth sort of area.
-
Went to the Cardiff seminar last Friday and I am very pleased I did.
Met Judy and Andy and had a three hour information packed session. It was very informal and there was no hard selling of products.
If you are not sure whether to go on the 2 day course this seminar will certainly help you decide. There are pitfalls to leather cleaning but once you have the know how it's pretty straightforward.
We saw sample of all the different kinds of leather, plus some new things in the market that are now causing problems and cleaners need to be aware of like two colour pigments.

Thanks Mike
The next lot of free seminar dates will be posted shortly.
Good to meet so many of you last week. The AMU HQ is certainly very well placed and with fantastic facilities.
Look forward to seeing all those who booked our 2 day course in Harrogate.
