cleaned a non wool white stair carpet today and had a nightmare looked dirty after clean black spots like foot prints appeared custy not happy said i would go back and re clean any ideas what i could do used a ashbys ninja 135 psi twin vacs with crystal green

venon, you need to see the carpet dry before deciding on an action, often a carpet will develop dark areas when damp but the disappear as the carpet dries.

thanks for a decent reply but the black marks have stayed when dry iwas hoping they would fade away have got to go back to rectify this if i can just thought someone else might have come across this and had a remedy thanks

This is a common problem and can be caused by heavy deposits of dry soil wicking back. Pre-vacuum thoroughly to avoid. Or the underlay may be degrading and you have pulled the black dust through during the clean. Pull back and check the underlay.

Hey venom, had a similar problem to this myself a couple of weeks back, Right pain to solve.

You say it wasnt wool, what type of fibre was it?
Is there any chance it could be pile shading?
