Title: advice on fitting brass connectors please
Post by: russ_clark on April 06, 2007, 10:09:44 am
I am currently stripping internal van connected hoses out of my vans and re-fitting with better quality re-inforced hose and brass connectors.
I currently have fitted standard yellow garden hose with plastic hoselock connectors.
I am having a mare getting the connectors on !!
They just will not do up as though the hose is too big.
I have tried them on my standard yeloow garden hose and they will not even fit on that.
Any help please.
Cheers Russ

Thanks for the offer Mark
but I have had to re-fit all my hoselocks back
as I have a commercial job in the morning.
As soon as I put the plastic hoselocks back the system worked fine.
I am really peed off as I spent £70 on all brass fittings/connectors and
they just do not want to work.
Has nobody else experienced this  ??? ??? ???

Russ where did you get your brass fittings? I bought a brass hose pistol from B&Q and checked it would fit my hose - it did but the other connectors didn't. They don't seem to have any tapered edge to guide the pipe over the center tube.
