i replaced all filters, and then the resin, the resin is in a blue canister??, the system was running at TDS 0.01 from the moment i replaced all filters, now only 1 week later it is running at 0.04 TDS. I regularly flush the filters out, ( once a week ). The RO system is only 6 months old?? thanks for any advise

If its a small ro system and di canister and you dont disconnect the di when starting the Ro untill the ro gets going properly it will be producing water sometimes at aprox 80 tds, with that going into a small di canister it will quickly kill of your resin, check out what you ro tds is before di on startup after not producing for a day you will be supprised, unless mine is faulty that is ;)

Bear in mind it might be your membrane but don't change it just for the sake of it. Invest in an in line TDS meter if you don't already have one. Sampling with a hand meter is OK for checking your finished water but it doesnt let you know whats going inside the system.

hi, i had this problem when i started, i had the small blue vessel which you mention, i would have 000 for a week then it would shoot up to 014, i used to live in a very hard water area, so i bought one of these and got rid of the blue vessel

hope this helps, it did with me and i have yet to change my resin in over 6 months, although i do live in a softer water area now.

I would say the same as LWC as was in my case, but seeing as you have obviously not had the problem in the 1st 6 months of use then....
1) You have been stop/starting the production more without disconnecting DI and allowing tds to fall to low figures for the few mins, thereby killing resin quickly.
2) Your resin has not been kept well enough and not lasting as well as it did (I've had that problem).
Whats the tds out of RO figure, before DI?

This could be your situation.
Your pre-filters started to 'go-off' therefore your TDS rose 'knocking' out your resin. You have changed your pre-filters and the resin. After changing your pre-filters it always advisable to disconnect the resin chamber for at least 24 hours to let the systems flush through first. As you didn't do this you knocked out your new resin and your new pre-filters have still have not settled down.
You will always notice that after changing pre-filters the TDS will rise for several days until fully bedded in.
To sort this turn your RO to flush, and allow to flush for at least 2 hours (overnight even better) then go back to production mode and allow to run for several hours. When TDS has stabilised then re-connect your Resin chamber with fresh resin.
