Evening all
I have been asked to quote a site near me that is 2 cleaner, 2 hour site but it will be between 9 & 5. The kicker is this; I know who used to have the contract and they have chucked it in mainly because the client was always trying to poach her staff. If the client didn't get what they wanted they would ring up and insist that the cleaner must be replaced! Now I know what you're thinking, get the contract & then get the cleaner to sign a steel clad contract. Well, that is what the old cleaning firm did & the client siad that she had some hot shot lawyers who who make mincemeat of the agreement.
I would normall walk away from such a headache but I ask myself whether the old firm just have sour grapes, and I know that the client was paying £14.00 per hour per cleaner so the reward is there.
Any ideas ???
Many thanks
Tim

It's the customer you want signing a steel clad contract, not the cleaner.

I would take it on if there is money in it.
If it turns out to be a ball ache, walk away.
Nothing ventured, ..... !

You can't rely on second hand info, like you say it could be sour grapes. I have got several contracts where the previous company have said they are a pain and don't go near them with a bargepole, I don't have problems with these contracts as we actually carry out the service quoted for.
As others have said, get a signed contract from the client and go for it, you have nothing to lose.
Good luck
