scroll down to find the resin vessel - would this be a cheap alternative to using one of the expensive blue ones in my van if I fitted it to my static ro unit?
-
yes.
-
So my next question is for just over twenty five pounds I can get my tds to zero on my static tank. Does this mean that my resin in my blue van mounted vessel will last indefinately as the water will be pure running through it?
-
I use 2 of these after RO to bring tds down to zero in my garage, so you dont really need the van mounted one as it will be zero anyway
-
bargain buy, it comes out ro at 6 and out the little 25 quider at 0. Stays below 5 for months.
-
i have a 25 lt resin cilinder you can have for £40 if you want to pick it up...oxfordshire
-
Thanks easyclean but I have one in my van already. Just that to be able to buy one of these instead of forking out eighty pounds a time on a bag of resin seemed to be something of a bargain to me. I thought if I kept the one running in my van it would last indefinately with the tds being zero of the water in my static system?
-
These 700ml units are what we recommend to have after any RO unit. They last longer than the small 250ml ones and as you point out are not as pricey as the larger vessels, (although we and several other suppliers have reconditioned 19L pressure vessels for about £45).
-
Alex, are they empty? Why do they need reconditioning - what goes wrong with them? Another question - one supplier fits his blue vessel before the pump so whats the point in having a pressurised type vessel at all that extra cost if you do this? I have fitted mine after the pump now (in my van) really to pressurise it up to find where my leaks were.
-
Yes Dave, they are empty. They have been used in static commercial machinery, so have had very controlled usage.
The advantage to these vessels is their capacity, which allows for better movement of water through the Resin beads. Whether you choose to have them 'pre or post' is up to you. You do run the risk of errant beads damaging your pump if you use them 'pre' though.
If you find that the smaller units works for you then that's great. I would use the smaller 700ml as a final polish after your RO before filling your static tank and then you do not need one in your vehicle at all (we never do).
Even cheaper is to use the pressure vessel from your vehicle after your RO and then you do not have to buy anything new.
