Title: Laser printer envelopes?
Post by: Cloverleaf on March 31, 2007, 11:19:11 am: Does anyone have experience using DL size envelopes in a laser printer?
I have tried using the self adhesive type, but they just jam up >:(

My supplier cannot sugest which type to use. Any sugestions?

Do you use self adhesive types with the gum exposed? Or, like me, the type with a removeable paper strip covering the adhesive? I used to have problems on my Inkjet with the former, but not the latter.

The laser printer is not as kind, perhaps because the throughput is a lot faster, not because of the heat.

The envelopes I'v tried are self adhesive fold over type without the removable paper stip.
It seems to be the top fold that causes the jamming.

Post by: Mike Halliday on March 31, 2007, 01:23:32 pm: are you adjusting all the print setting so the printer knows its envelopes its printing onto, you can print envelopes in MS-Word but you still need to adjust the paper setting in the printer control box so it know it has envelopes in the in-tray.

I think I may try thicker envelopes if I can get them.

Will just have to use the inkjet in the mean time.

If printing logos etc,never used a laser for that,but I do know that there are laser envelopes that are suitable,give Viking a look.-John

Was giving it another look today. It seems the envelope has to go round a very tight bend b4 coming out of the top of the printer...this may be the problem! Perhaps bad design?

Post by: Nitrox on April 04, 2007, 01:13:04 pm: Hp 2600n will spit them out all day long without problems I have used HP for years without problems and I also use " Easy envelopes" software rather than the option in word as it allows the use of Logo's etc on the envelope,you can also purchase credit from Royal Mail.com to print your own postage and add logo's etc.Hope this helps
