Title: replacing clips when changing rubber

 ???  This may seem a silly question but how do you insert brass clips when replacing rubber in squeegee. Have only been going for 3 months so this is the first time. Have used ettores quick release channels up to now but want to change the rubber in a small fixed handle squeegee. can anyone help??

Just stick one on the end of the rubber, well a few mm from the end...
and push the rubber in.

Then hold the channel firmly and stretch the other end out far enough to get the other end clip on. ;)

I don't even bother with clips these days.
Can't see any benefit.
Without clips my rubber moves in and out and keeps tight to the edges. :)

Hi

surely youve changed your rubber in 3 months :o ;D

put your rubber through your channel, put the brass clip on the end of your rubber leaving the smallest bit of rubber then push the clip in, that will secure one end.  The other end pull your rubber through and put the brass clip on and push in leaving a small bit of rubber showing.

Alternatively just get yourself an Unger ergotech squeegy they are quick release rubbers and you do not need end clips ;) 8)

Take the rubber and clips out.

Cut new rubber to length allowing a couple of mil extra each side of the channel. 

Put clip on one end of rubber 2 mil in and slide rubber in channel with the clip following the rubber and locking in last.

Pull rubber out the other end of channel but make sure that the clip you have already put in stays put.  Put clip on other end allowing 2 mil on the outside of clip.  Squeeze clip and push rubber back into channel.

Now have a beer.

Or a tea with several sugars.

It sounds a lot harder than it is.  May take a while first time but once experienced at it you'll do it in seconds.  It's worth getting it right as well as if you don't it can really mess your bladeing off up.

Thanks for the tips guys. Easy when you know how. Seems to be ok. will try out today.
