Title: stainless steel door kickplates
Post by: prestige on March 28, 2007, 09:04:20 am
Hey Guys,

We have just taken over cleaning a real dirty old pub which we have turned round quite quickly but we cant seem to shift years of ground in dirt, polish etc on the door kickplates. Any advice or should the client just get new ones?

Cheers and Happy Cleaning...

Sharon.

take them off and wet and dry them with a really fine grade paper loads of water and  fairy liquid,  go in one direction left-right, right-left.
use a sanding block to wrap the paper around.

I`m assuming they are not chrome  ;D

Try clear malt vinegar and rub with clean cloth, (its what the fish and chip shops owners use to clean there stainless steel counters etc).

Finish off by rubbing johnsones baby oil with a clean cloth for a nice shine 8)

If its stainless steel - scotch brite and fairy liquid watered down - you can tell if its stainless if its because it won't be magnetic
