Was wondering if anyone out there work as a husband and wife team.
We use the system where my wife does the quotes and I do the cleans. Any comments or advice from anyone who does it the same way. It is really working well for us. Seems that customers relates better to a woman than a man. My wife sells way more than me.
-
Yup.
Thats how we started. I do the quotes, the work, the books, the dishes, clean the loo, pick up the dog s&*t, do the salaries and the wife does everything else.
But seriously, You're right. The wife answers the phone, books the calls and people seem to relate to her better.
She used to do the work as well but, since I joined and bought the TM, I do most of that now.
Works well
-
yup
here as well ;D
-
Same here, I do all the work, she does all the talking! ;)

I'd better not let the wife see this post as she wants in aswell!!! Shes currently in a job getting £11 an hour and says she wants the same from me !!! ha :o ;D

and how did you managed to get the wife trained to know what to say when tehecnical questions are asked?
Will my carpet shrink? and all those strange questions some customers can come up with?
Does anyone take the wife out to clean with you?
-
I wouldn`t.... I go to work to ESCAPE ;D :o ;D :D ;)
-
My wife has been on the courses as well, so she sort of knows what shes talking about.

Is it true you actually have to pay your partner.
Or is a joint account OK
-
From trauma scenes, sharp search services, sewage/flood damage, property cleaning/clearance, paperwork etc i certainly make her pay her way ;D fair do's what ever u guys do i will guarantee my mrs can do if not as good better and she's worked like that for the past 15 years or so an she aint no tom boy believe me ;) some women are happy to do their fair share and so they should :o
-
My missus works with me too. She will be pulling her weight over the next month as we have to fit in cleaning carpets, upholstery and curtains to 50 pubs :o,that will keep her quiet. ;)

As the man says I go to work to escape

For those who do not go to work to escape -
and would like to help the wife getting on board in the business -
Contact John at Alltec - He is a great guy and is presenting a carpet course for the ladies on 18th May.

Me too. Fiance gets kit ready / packs away, moves furniture, fills machine and talks to custys - all I have too do is the actual cleaning ;D On bigger jobs we get the second machine out and I make her work for a living!!!! ;D She often does carpets while I do curtains / upholstery.
If you pay your partner properly and do PAYE for them, you also save a shed load of tax by using their tax allowance. Plus if you file annual returns on line Gordon (is a moron) gives you some back - £250 last year, £150 this year. Shame he grabbed back the 10% band AND tax relief on pension contributions this year ???

Hi Guys,
On a note of caution from someone with a bit of experience ;), it's fine being a partnership when everything is going well, but what about if a divorce occurs, will she be entitled to half ?
Worth thinking about .
Cheers
Doug
