Do you think putting this in your advertising would help,
'be carefull who you allow in your home, for your security all our staff have been screened by the police
some people are very security conscious so might feel reassured that a carpet cleaner has been checked out by the police.

Or alternativley join your local safe traders registration scheme checks are carried out by local council and trading standards. It is difficult for customers, especially those who are vulnerable, to know if they are dealing with traders who comply with all the rules and regulations which apply to their businesses, who operate in a fair and honest way,and who offer high standards of workmanship. Most councils run schemes like this now.

I have a enhanced disclouse form from the police and when I have showen it to customer I am sure it has made a diffrence.
because when i,ve told them and explained what it means I can see that they become more confident talking to me .
also when I tell them I work for social services p/t
it puts them at ease.

If your a totally honest up front bloke with nothing to hide, what have you to worry about??
I used to be Chief Inspector In Special Constabulary but do not go around advertising it.
Put your home address on all your advertising so people can see where you are from, DO NOT hide behind company names and 0800 numbers.
