Title: Brodex poles
Post by: steve k on March 27, 2007, 07:23:55 am
I have just got the ecolite 18ft.
It has come with a fibre glass base section (yellow) and a carbon middle section (black)...
now, I thought the top section was supposed to be carbon as well...?
I have the 30ft pole and the carbon top sections remove any whippiness as well as being very light.
They did ring me prior to delivery and say this would be the configuation to try and make the top more rigid...I said that glass fibre top sections are whippy and I was happy with the previous configuraion of carbon top section.
Got the new pole yesterday and it is WHIPPY  ??? ???

Do you think they are just out of carbon stock as this set up does not make sense and was also the same cost ...I would have thought glass fibre was cheaper than carbon... ???

Sounds like you've been done.  If it's more whippy then why not ask for them to take it back as it doesn't do what they said it would.  Same price for less carbon sections sounds like a rip off.

i needed a new second section for my 36 foot carbon fibre pole ,when i rang they said they had stoped doing the carbon fibre so they said i would have to use a section of a predator pole as this was the same thickness so that is what i have done but i think it is poor service when they dont stock spares for poles they have sold less than a year ago, i for one will never use brodex again they seem very friendly when you are buying but  their after sales service is a joke.

yes...sorted now...thanks Sean...my mistake. The 18ft pole I have is actually meant to be ALL glass fibre. The carbon fibre section is thrown in for free in place of what should be glass fibre to improve rigidity.

Carbon in for Free?? Maybe we should all order those poles!!

Nice to see a supplier helping out when they could have witheld the order until the next stock delivery?
